Why do we need another Bitcoin fork, IBTC Fork in particular? In 2009, Bitcoin changed the way people should think about money. Bitcoin is like a scripture written in code. When it was written, it was just an experiment done by early pioneers. Bitcoin has created a true religion which now needs evolution and greater mass impact. Through this fork it is our humble effort to:
1. Try and reduce high inequality in bitcoin allocation - The holding of bitcoins across the global population is a point of concern. As per www.bitinfocharts.com, the wealth distribution of bitcoins among top 10/100/1,000/10,000 addresses is 5.21% / 14.78% / 35.14% / 57.58% respectively.
2. Low penetration in India - If we can imagine nearly 100 million people using BTC on a regular basis in India, it will be a true change for Indian masses but can we do that with existing coin?
This is not possible in the current design format.
What is the way out?
Build a Bitcoin baby…
If the community is the true support of this new money, why Indian BTC or IBTC should not become the new anchor of Indian community?
This may look blasphemy to some but such people must answer one question. How can you call something a revolution if it is not used for the benefit of millions?
Blockchain is the technology layer but belief is the social resolve. If we can put Indian belief behind the Bitcoin fork, we can create Indian BTC (IBTC).
This is the issue of the community pledge. If they decide to create IBTC, they can.
Technology is already there.
Take the source code of Bitcoin core, add some scalability enhancements and rebuild the chain for Indians.
