Australia's animal shelters and veterinary clinics are making changes to ensure they can continue to take care of animals throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

The coronavirus has also prompted an increase in animal adoptions, but organisations want people to carefully consider whether now is the right time to be bringing home a new pet.
