How to Quickly Remove Internal Weld Seams from Steel Tubing

How to Quickly Remove Internal Weld Seams from Steel Tubing Who needs to remove internal weld seams from steel tubing?! Makers EVERYWHERE that need two pieces of square steel tube to 'sleeve' together, that's who! That little internal weld prevents two pieces that 'should' fit together from doing so but removing the thin bead of steel from the ENTIRE length of the outer piece of square tube is nearly impossible... UNTIL NOW!

This video shows how you can make a Version 1.0 "Seams Impossible" tool just like the one invented by Matt Jackson of Next Level Carpentry. This clever invention cuts away the weld bead from inside a piece of 1 1/4" square steel tube OF ANY LENGTH completely and almost effortlessly so that a piece of 1" square tube fits neatly and smoothly inside!

To take the invention to a whole 'Next Level' I collaborated with Greg Porter of @Greg's Garage who contributed his insight and abilities to develop a Version 2.0 ''Seams Impossible" tool that is easily adaptable to remove that pesky weld seam from virtually ANY SIZE square steel tube regardless if the seam is centered in a face of the tube or not!! This link is for a video on Greg's Garage Channel that shows the fascinating process of his CNC in action making a Version 2.0 tool out of a small billet of aircraft grade aluminum. Follow along and you can make one of your own, provided you have a CNC in your shop that does more than hold the floor down:

If you need to remove internal weld seams and lack the ability or interest to make one just hit this link... it will take you directly to Greg's Garage Web Store where you can get in on a sweet Pre-Sale to buy your very own V2.0 Seams Impossible tool:

Even if you don't need a Seams Impossible tool you NEED to check out the S#*@ Welders Say video on the Greg's Garage Channel on YouTube (it includes 'adult language' but is tastefully done... even if you question the adult-ness of the welders in the video 🀣)

Here's an Amazon Influencer's list of tools and supplies used in the making of this video along with components for the Seams Impossible tools if you can't find what you need locally:
As an Influencer, Amazon pays small, minuscule really, ad fees from sales made through those links that help offset expenses for video production here at Next Level Carpentry so I really appreciate it!

And here's the 'brute force/drive-thru' method:

Please don't trash these guys for their videos showing effective alternative methods for doing this... they were able to get the job done with less fuss and fabrication which may well be all that's needed!
