WILL CARNIVAL BE GOING BANKRUPT? 12% INT FOR $6B BOND OFFERING TODAY Carnival Corporation is raising fresh cash to survive the downturn by issuing a combination of bonds, notes and shares in the company. The plan was to raise $6 Billion. $3 Billion of it was to be issued via a bond. Bankers for the company Bank of America, JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs have told the company that they can get up to $10 Billion but the interest rate will be 12%. Carnival has accepted $4 Billion and it looks like the company will raise $7 Billion today to add to their $3 Billion on hand. The company uses about $1 Billion per month to pay it's costs but layoffs and idling it's ships will cut that cost down.
