We need a ‘cohesive national response’ not an ‘alternative voice’ on coronavirus approach

We need a ‘cohesive national response’ not an ‘alternative voice’ on coronavirus approach Sky News host Chris Kenny says the ABC’s medical reporter has been using the broadcaster to provide “an alternative voice” during a time where “we are trying for a cohesive national response” to the coronavirus pandemic.

Mr Kenny said some of the policy advice presented by Dr Norman Swan has been “pretty irresponsible” given in Australia “we are running at least a week, and a factor of at least minus 100 per cent behind Swan's predictions” on the spread of the virus.

“Our rate of infections is slowing,” Mr Kenny said.

“This could change, a major breakout could occur, no one ought to get ahead of themselves”.

However, Mr Kenny said, “all indications” show we “we are doing pretty well so far” as a country in addressing the pandemic and slowing its spread.
