We want to keep egg production consistent throughout the seasons. Our hens are on year 2 of laying, and we want to add new layers to the flock to avoid disruption in our egg supply. We have 2 roosters, so fertile eggs are available to us for incubation. We are keeping costs down by using eggs from our backyard.
