Vodafone Idea
Vodafone Idea is the latest in the list of carriers who have given some leeway to consumers in these trying times. The company announced they will be extending validity on prepaid plans that have been availed by low-income customers that use feature phones. The company is also providing a credited talk time of ₹10 for these feature phone subscribers.
Airtel
Bharti Airtel also extended the validity for their prepaid subscribers till 17 April. The company, similar to Vodafone Idea, will also be offering a credit of ₹10 for their 8 crore pre-paid subscribers.
Reliance Jio
Reliance Jio also announced on Tuesday that they will be giving complimentary 100 minutes of talk time and 100 text messages to its users till April 17. The company also announced that subscribers will be able to receive incoming calls on their Jio numbers even if their validity has ended.
MTNL and BSNL
Even state-run operators BSNL and MTNL have announced an extended validity. The provider has promised that they will extend validity period of their prepaid mobile services till April 20 and offered ₹10 additional talktime even after zero balance
Sector regulator Trai on Sunday had asked telecom operators to extend prepaid validity period to ensure that subscribers get uninterrupted services during the 21day nationwide lockdown.
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has also sought details of the steps taken to ensure availability of uninterrupted telecom services to such customers on a "priority basis".
