Comfortable and effective face mask

This is the best home made face mask we've seen for dealing with Covid-19 AND it's easy to make.

Materials Needed to make:

 - 100% cotton fabric
- needle and thread (recommend quilting thread)
- shoelace OR kind of cloth strip 35-45 inches
- filter material (see below)
- scissors

Filter material

One of the excellent features of this mask is the ability to insert filter materials. You can use materials that are readily available around the house.

You can use:



 - Coffee filters
- Paper towels
- toilet paper
- vacuum machine bags
- HEPA filter paper
- other cloth materials

You can put in multiple layers of filter if you like. The better and tighter the filter material you use, the more resistance to breathing you will find because this mask makes a tight seal around your face. In all the tests we show in the video we used a single coffee filter, which showed excellent protection against water droplets and was pretty easy to breathe with over a long period of time.

NOTE: This mask is not a substitute for a real N95 mask. If you have access to a real N95 you should use it. If you don't have access to a real N95, then this mask is the best design we've seen for a home made mask.

As you can see in the video we spent many days refining this design to provide a comfortable but tight fit around your face, and it definitely provides pretty good protection against small water droplets.

If anyone has real professional testing equipment for testing the effectiveness of this mask against virus particles, we'd be interested in seeing the results. You can dial up protection by using high quality insert materials.
