This short animation shows how a WVTS valve works. The Danfoss WVTS water pressure-regulating valve is used to regulate the flow of cooling water to water-cooled condensers. The WVTS regulates the water inlet pressure as a function of the refrigerant hot gas temperature. This means that the higher the condensing temperature, the more cooling water runs to the condenser, balancing the water flow and refrigerant condensing temperature. The WVTS is available in a wide range of capacities from kV 12.5 [m3/h] up to 125 [m3/h] and also works with a wide range of refrigerants.

The animation demonstrates the process in eight steps:
1. Bulb pressure increases (Pb)
2. Pilot cone spindle moves down and the valve opens
3. Liquid escapes through the pilot valve port. P2 decreases
4. Servo piston opens
5. Fluid flows through the main port
6. Bulb pressure decreases (Pb)
7. Pilot cone spindle moves up
8. The pilot port is closed and the flow stops
